Finally, a decent photo of us!

After long procrastination and overdue haircut, I've finally took the initiative to take a decent photo of us for our website. We converted a spare room into a mini studio of ours, and took turn to photograph each other. Here is a photo of us - if you're wondering how we'd look like. :P

Good luck to an associate

A good friend of mine, Kee and Sharon asked me for a favour to have their portrait done for an advertisement in a wedding magazine. Kee's wife, Sharon recently joined him in his endeavor as an international wedding videographer. Good luck to the both and you and keep up the excellent work.

Superstar Virgo

While I was in KL, Alishia went on board a cruise that was named "Superstar Virgo"; operated by Asia's top cruise liner, Star Cruise Malaysia. It was an 8 day working holiday where she conducted fitness classes on board the ship. In case you didn't know, Alishia is also a part-time fitness instructor for RPM, Body Step and Body Combat classes. If you've visited a gym, you should know how "physically challenging" and tiring those classes are.

Superstar Virgo travels from Klang to Singapore, Penang and Phuket. Here are some of her snapshots during her trip.

Charge Up! Photography Conference

I have just returned from a 3 day photography conference conducted by Louis Pang, one of Malaysia's top wedding photographer. This event was organised by LiveWire Media and it was held at Life College in PJ.

It was truly an inspirational experience, learning from one of the best photographers as he shares his life experience in his career as a professional wedding photographer. I can describe Louis as someone who is not only talented, but humble and possesses a very encouraging spirit. He is often seen smiling and talking to the audiences and there is no surprise seeing so many of his fans wanting to know him better (including myself).

The entire event was well organised and I am glad to have met a few extraordinary people within the organization. Their dedication towards the Lord has truly inspired me. Thanks guys for the great effort!

Thanks Mr. Hiew for emailing us this photo of us working together as a team. I am the guy with the blue shirt, at the left corner of the frame.

This is one of my shot during the photo shooting session after the class on Saturday evening. This HDR (High Dynamic Range) attempt was taken at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail park in PJ.

I just came across a participant's blog that contains some photos of their team during that conference and it is not bad at all! Kudos for a job well done.

Back from my long needed break

Bird's eye view of Penang island from the plane as we approach Langkawi

We've just returned today from a short trip to Langkawi this afternoon. I must say that it was a simple yet fulfilling trip. We hired a car and traveled around the island; clocked over 200 kilometers in 3 days. Langkawi island is still underdeveloped (to my opinion), but it sure has one of the most beautiful beaches in Malaysia.

A view of Tanjung Rhu beach

I did not manage to take many photos during our trip. Our itinerary was quite packed and furthermore, it was strictly a 'no working' holiday. I was armed with a Nikon D50 and one 35mm, 2.0 f/stop Nikkor lens throughout the trip.

A bridge that stretches about 200 meters out to the sea, bridging us to a fish farm.

A sign as we enter the bridge above. It doesn't look that safe from here.

I can't wait for my next vacation already...

Visit Malaysia 2007 @ The Star Online

It was 2am in the morning and I had trouble sleeping. To fill up my time, I did a 'vain' search on google hoping it would bore me to sleep. I typed in my name (I'm sure you've done that too) inside the search bar and clicked on the search button - this was what I found.

The Star Newspaper used my photo as their banner at their "All Malaysia Info" section for their Visit Malaysia 2007 web portal. They must have gotten this photo when I submitted it for the Merdeka@49 photography contest last year. I've also found out that I won a consolation price with that photo. To date, I've yet to receive any notice from them and I am still wondering where it went.
