Bridal Portrait Portfolio

August 21, 2010

I’ve compiled some of my favourite bridal portrait photos, shot within the past 1 year into a slideshow. Enjoy!

It’s another milestone for us. In Sept 2009, we’ve opened our first boutique studio in Penang. Today, we’re opening our doors in Kuala Lumpur. After months of planning and preparations, our KL’s office is now located at The Wedding Hub, B-08-3A, Block B, 3 Two Square, Jalan 19/1, 46300 Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

Our albums, prints and portfolio are readily available along with other information at The Wedding Hub, and from this month onwards, we’ll be meeting you at our new place instead of the usual visits at Starbucks. :) We’ll also try to make monthly visits so that we can get to know you better.

Please pay us a visit if you’re keen to view our work. Helen who is in-charge of The Wedding Hub will be there to assist you. I’ll try to update this post with pictures as soon as I can. We’re so excited!

**UPDATED**

Here are some photos of our new place as promised!! Shots taken with a Lumix point-n-shoot camera.

A bride wearing a gown by That Special Occasion

What inspired you to start That Special Occasion?
It was the beginning of the new millennium in 2000 and my biz partner Anna and I decided to quit our jobs and venture into the wedding business. We had met at part-time design school and weddings seemed to interest us both.

Describe yourself in 3 words!
Man of his words … oops, that’s 4!

What should a bride consider when choosing a bridal gown?
Comfort, as she will be in the dress for long periods of time. The gown should also complement her personality and enhance her body instead of being overpowering. She must also allocate a reasonable amount of budget for a specially designed gown.

How long does it take to make a dress with That Special Occasion?
2 to 3 months would be a good lead time for made-to-measure wedding gowns.

That Special Occasion is popular amongst brides in Malaysia. Why do they choose you?
We offer a personalised service as we specialise in made-to-measure. In that sense, a bride does get an opportunity to share some input into the design of her wedding gown. I’d also like to think that we are friendly and easy going, but only to brides who reciprocate! Our pricing levels are also competitive and relatively affordable.

Any advice for the bride on choosing their wedding gown designer?
Like choosing any vendor, there must be chemistry and mutual trust and respect.
